Cattle Breeding and Fodder Development (CBFD) is an essential initiative aimed at improving the productivity and genetic quality of cattle while ensuring a sustainable supply of nutritious fodder. The program focuses on artificial insemination, distribution of high-quality semen straws, and supply of fodder resources to support livestock farmers.
Key Functions of CBFD Units
- Semen straws produced in the three semen stations are distributed to all Veterinary institutions across the State through 37 CBFD units.
- Provision of liquid Nitrogen to Veterinary Institutions for semen storage.
- Supply of fodder seeds, fodder slips, and tree fodder seedlings to farmers, ensuring a steady feed supply for livestock.
